Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway

July 2026 - ✏️ SCHOOL’S BACK…and we’re ready to cheer our students on! ❤️

Kiwanis Club of Santa Ana with the Santa Ana College Circle K Club was proud to roll up sleeves alongside other amazing volunteers at the Mayor’s Back-to-School event.

Volunteers assembled backpacks, organized supplies and helped local students get ready for a new school year.❤️

Scholarship Luncheon & Ceremony

May 2026 - Honored to celebrate the accomplishments of this year's scholarship recipients at our annual Scholarship Luncheon and the formal ceremony at Santa Ana College. Kiwanis Club of Santa Ana proudly recognized outstanding students for their academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to serving their communities. Investing in the next generation is at the heart of Kiwanis, and we are grateful to our members, donors, and supporters who make these scholarships possible. Congratulations to all of our recipients—we look forward to seeing the positive impact you will make in the future—we wish you continued success as you pursue your educational and career goals!

Bowling for Special Needs Students

May 2026 - Honored to support the annual Special-Needs Bowling Event at Fountain Bowl in Fountain Valley, which graciously hosted nearly 300 students from local schools for a day of fun, friendship, and celebration. Our members enjoyed volunteering alongside educators, families, and community partners to help create a memorable experience filled with smiles, laughter, and encouragement. A heartfelt thank you to Fountain Bowl for their generous hospitality and continued commitment to making this special event possible year after year.

Floral Park Home & Garden Tour

April 2026 - Kiwanis Club of Santa Ana was proud to participate in this year's Floral Park Home & Garden Tour, connecting with community members and sharing information about our mission of serving the children of Santa Ana. Club members enjoyed meeting visitors, highlighting our service projects, and inviting others to learn more about the impact Kiwanis has throughout our community. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and to the organizers for another wonderful community event. We appreciate the opportunity to be part of this cherished Santa Ana tradition and look forward to continuing to serve our community together.

Kinder Caminata

March 2026 - Kiwanis joined Santa Ana College in welcoming over 1,000 kids from Santa Ana and Garden Grove unified school districts (SAUSD and GGUSD) for the annual KinderCaminata event.

The young students explored future careers and the possibilities that college can bring. Members voluteering to staff the Career Pathway booth at the event reminded the young students that reading is the first step toward their future. Kiwanians enjoyed handing out bookmarks and stickers, shared smiles and encouraged a love of reading. #ReadersAreLeaders

Read Across America

March 2026 - Volunteers and high school students from the community signed up to read to children throughout the month of March for the Read Across America national program. Participating schools that joined the Kiwanis Club of Santa Ana included: Adams Elementary, Madison, Diamond, Carl Harvey, Lowell, McFadden Institute of Technology, Century High School, Saddleback, Santa Ana, Santiago and Segerstrom.

Rose Parade Float Decorating

Over 300 individuals representing Kiwanis International volunteered to decorate floats for this year's Rose Parade.

Strike Gold for Kids

All-Access Playground Park

The George Upton All-Access Park, located off Linda Way and West Adams Street, is part of the larger Thornton Park and has a rich history of community involvement. Originally built in 1957–58 with funds raised by the Kiwanis Club of Santa Ana and support from the Santa Ana Parks & Recreation Department, it became the first park in California designed specifically to provide a play space for children with special needs. Around 2002, a basketball court was added to the park. Most recently, in 2024–2025, the playground underwent a major renovation to upgrade its equipment. Today, it stands as a fully integrated playground, thoughtfully designed to welcome and include children of all abilities.
